Surfing Center
There are few educational institutions that can boast of a surfing center and rich sea activities as there are in the Hadassah Neurim Youth Village. The Hadassah Neurim Youth Village is an educational village located on a magical cliff overlooking the beach of Beit Yanai. The youth surfing center has been operating since 2014.
Intially established with the help of donations, the and was used exclusively for the educational-sports activities of the village. In December 2022, the surfing center will be opened in cooperation with the “Hagal Sheli” association. The Ruppin educational marine center enables all youth village students to engage in water sports and to integrate informal marine education into the educational framework and agenda of the boarding school.
The surfing center has a special atmosphere, where the students can spend the hours after school, and be exposed to the world of surfing and water sports.
Moreover, the boarding school’s students learn and receive “assistant guide” certificates from the Israeli Surfers’ Organization at the club, and then can join the club’s training team (and other surf clubs in Israel) during vacations and weekends.
Also, the association invests a lot in the upkeep, development, and cultivation of the complex to maintain the appearance and comfort of the space so that it can continue to provide alternative holistic therapy to the local students.
A host of other educational activities are carried out together with volunteers and staff members of the boarding school and the surfing club. The place continues to be used as a preferred complex for peak educational activities of the youth village.
In addition to all these, the club holds lectures on surfing, yoga classes, and other topics aimed at improving the students’ life skills and empowering them through the connection to sports and nature.
The leading educational concept in the club is in line with the concept of the village which imparts values such as: perseverance, confronting challenges head-on, high self-esteem, responsibility, teamwork, nature conservation, significant recruitment equality for the IDF, learning as a means of creating change, social nuclearism, humanity and acceptance of the other, all of this form the basis for the content transmitted during the club’s operating hours.
