Specialization in ecological agriculture and sustainability
The students learn about agricultural production and how to maintain sustainable gardening practices. The focus is on ecological connection out of concern for the soil and the restoration of the local native habitat. Along with the establishment of an organic nursery and the vegetable beds, the students learn about a variety of agricultural systems such as composting, bio gas, and using red worm farms for the treatment of organic waste, renewable energy, grey water conservation and purification, proper routing of rainwater, and more. The connection with the land creates in the student a sense of belonging and a deeper understanding of the place in nature and the value in preserving our natural resources. As part of the program, the students restore the local native vegetation and carry out sustainable gardening in the village – planning the development and maintenance of the ornamental with the creation of ecological spaces and the planting of local nativenplants on the cliff overlooking the Mediterranean to prevent further soil erosion and more.
