אנו בכפר הנוער הדסה נעורים, מובילים תנועה לשינוי סביבתי המתחיל מקיום חקלאות ברת קיימא, דרך חינוך לתקשורת מקרבת בין האדם לבעלי חיים ועד יצירת מרחב קהילתי המוביל קיימות.
התנועה שלנו במשק אדם חיה סביבה כוללת מגמת חקלאות עם התמחות בכלבנות
התמחות בכלבנות – כלביית הנעורים היושבת בלב כפר הנוער הדסה נעורים הינה כלבייה שיקומית להקתית. בכלבייה לומדים החניכים לאמן את הכלבים אשר רובם מגיעים עם רקע של בעיות התנהגות שונות. המטרה היא להביא את הכלבים למצב שבו הם יכולים להשתלב היטב במשפחות שיאמצו אותם. החניכים שמשתתפים בתוכנית לומדים הן את ההיבט העיוני והן את ההיבט המעשי של אימון וטיפול בכלבים במטרה להגיע מוכנים לבחינת הבגרות. התהליך שהחניכים עוברים עם הכלבים מועיל גם לחניכים מבחינה נפשית והתנהגותית ובעזרת הכלבים הם נפתחים, פותרים בעיות ורוכשים חברים חדשים על ארבע ועל שתיים.
לצד ענפי ההתמחות מתקיימים עוד מספר תחומים במשק החקלאי–
מרחב החי – מרחב החי של כפר הנוער הדסה נעורים משתרע על פני 5 דונם. במרחב מתגוררים מגוון בעלי חיים. מהות המרחב הינה להעניק בית עבור חיות בר שאינן יכולות לשוב לטבע, שיקום חיות שנפגעו שבתום השיקום ישוחררו בחזרה לביתן הטבעי וחיות מבויתות שננטשו או חיו בתנאים לא הולמים. במרחב החי מתקיימות פעילויות לימודיות ופרויקטים חינוכיים וטיפוליים עבור חניכי הכפר תוך שימת דגש לקשר אדם – חיה ולרווחת בעלי החיים.
התמחות בחקלאות אקולוגית – החניכים לומדים להפיק יצרנות חקלאית ולקיים גינון בר קיימא בחיבור אקולוגי נכון מתוך דאגה לאדמה ושיקום הבר המקומי. לצד הקמת משתלה אורגנית וערוגות הירק התלמידים לומדים על מגוון מערכות כגון קומפוסטציה, ביוגז, חוות תולעים אדומות לטיפול בפסולת אורגנית, אנרגיה מתחדשת, שימור וטיהור מים אפורים, ניתוב נכון של מי הגשמים ועוד. החיבור עם האדמה יוצר אצל החניך תחושת שייכות והבנה עמוקה יותר על המקום בו הוא נמצא וחינוך לערכים ושמירה על משאבי הטבע שלנו.

Center branches development since the beginning of the year
Neurim Kennel – Rehabilitation kennel
The kennel was established with the aim of being a place for rehabilitation, balance and training of abandoned dogs in a professional process with the village students that chose to join the program. The kennel includes a yard and a residential building that fit up to 10 dogs who live as a pack
In the kennel there are dogs that were abandoned by their owners and wild dogs, most of them have various of behavioral problems. The students learn to train and take care of the dogs. The goal is to get the dogs trained so they would be able to fit well with the families that will adopt them
The students who participate in the program learn both the theoretical aspect and the practical aspect of training and taking care of dogs
Among other things, 23 students from the agriculture class study with Oren Adika (one of the leading dog-behavior experts in Israel) and apply their knowledge in the work with the dogs in the kennel
In addition there is an excellence project for the 9th grade that works on the "mutual rehabilitation" model. The dogs go through a process of balancing, rehabilitating, strengthening trust in humans, basic training and thus increasing their chances of finding an adoptive family and a loving home
The students are experiencing a process of personal empowerment, development and strengthening of leadership and self-confidence, dealing with difficulties and frustration, a process of giving and receiving, dealing with farewell and more
At the end of the rehabilitation period, the kennel staff is matching between an adoptive family and a dog
The students present to the adoptive family the process that the dog went through. The kennel staff and the students continue to accompany the family and help them after the adoption
Three of the village graduates helps the staff with weekend shifts in the kennel and helps voluntarily during the week as well
The kennel has a WhatsApp group for students who are interested in coming to volunteer in their free time, so they can coordinate it with the staff. About 60 students have registered for the group. In addition, there are seven students from the 12th grade who fell in love with the dogs and choose to come on a regular basis
Since the beginning of the year, 8 dogs have been rehabilitated and adopted by families 7 dogs are currently in the process of being rehabilitated in the kennel
Ecological Agriculture and Sustainability
Students learn agricultural productivity and how to make sustainable gardening in a proper ecological connection out of concern for the land and the restoration of local nature
The agriculture branch has four departments: field crops, hydrophonic crops, plant nursery and succulents nursery
The students integrate in all of the departments and during the work a conversation develops and a personal connection is established between the staff and the students
Working in the agriculture branch creates satisfaction and a sense of success for the students. They are taking part of all the of the plant's development stages, from sowing seeds in the nursery through the planting and growing in the field and eventually prepare tasty dishes using the crops from the field in our amazing kitchen
The students love that work especially because everyone can find a way to integrate, from the delicate work of caring for sprouts to the physical working of the land

A project to establish a garden in the structure of the 9th grade designed and operated by the students under our professional guidance
A project to rebuild an ornamental pool with aquatic plants and ornamental fish and build a system for purifying water that will feed the pool
Human-Animal Center
The Human-Animal Center is a place for the welfare of animals and humans. A place that is a model for mutual treatment based on the basic principles of proper treatment of animals expressed in physical and mental well-being
The center serves as a home for animals that have no other treatment options, and the treatment of them is beneficial
The animals receive personal care tailored to their condition, and the maximum conditions for their well-being
Physical contact with animals will only be made if the animal initiates and allows it and not by force
Limiting the number of animals living in the center to avoid overcrowding that harms their well-being
– Animals that can be released at the end of their rehabilitation period – released to nature; Animals that can be handed over for adoption under welfare conditions are handed over for adoption
No buying or selling of animals takes place
The center is conducting a project with the safari's wildlife hospital. In this project, turtles and hedgehogs that arrived at the hospital and underwent treatment there after injury or illness, arrive at our center for further treatment and rehabilitation until full rehabilitation and recovery. After recovery they are released into the nature in which they were found. The rehabilitation process is done as a joint project together with the village students
The program for the study of emotional therapy with the help of animals in the mutual treatment model of the Oranim College at Hadassah Neurim – The Human-Animal Center serves as an educational and therapeutic place for the program. Students who study in the program carry out their practical work (practicum) with the village students. The aim of the program is to train professionals for therapeutic-emotional work with an emphasis on animal welfare, the contribution of animals to the process of psychotherapy based on the dynamic approach
Joint activity with "Beit Ekstein" – an elementary school located within the village, the school is intended for children who have been diagnosed as students with emotional difficulties and who are required to attend a special education school. We direct the school staff to educational conduct at the center, in addition we hold together with the school staff a group of trustees of the Human-Animal Center whose participants are Beit Ekstein students
"Human-Animal-Environment Center" commune
This year, a commune of a year of service was opened through the Israeli Scouts
There are six members of the commune who have postponed their military in order to come and volunteer for an entire year at Hadassah Neurim youth village, focusing on the task of connecting the village students with the work at the Human-Animal-Environment Center
This is the first year that we have a commune, so we are still learning and laying th foundations the commune work and their role in the center and the village
The members of the commune are divided into different branches, but each has the tools to work and guide in the other branches as well
In addition to the work in the center, the commune is integrated with various village activities: Learning center for students who have difficulty in studies, surfing lessons, running group, baking class, combat fitness project, scouting activity, dance group and more
The commune is a wonderful addition to the Human-Animal-Environment Center and the whole village

"Home Biogas" was founded in 2012 with the mission of reducing organic waste, transitioning to renewable energy
Studies in science and research on biogas systems and fertilizer research, for example a study by students of a science class in collaboration with HomeBiogas company is currently underway on the effect of fertilizer from HomeBiogas systems on the Bok choy plant
"Ecoocean" is an association founded in 2002 by scientists and environmentalists. The association's goals are to promote the preservation of the coastal and marine environment in our area as well as to increase public awareness through research, education and broad community activities.
There are many joint activity for our students and for elementary school students who come as extracurricular classes
Many more collaborations are being developed these days
